Our library was opened in 2010, and is situated at the heart of the school. The library is open daily during term time from 8.30am – 4.30pm (including Saturday) to all pupils and staff, and provides a welcoming space with quality resources for pupils and staff to study, research and read.
The library is staffed by a professional librarian who is able to give advice on a range of subjects, from help finding a really great book to read, to information that will assist with school work. Pupils are able to volunteer as pupil librarians, and follow a structured program which introduces them to the broad range of skills that are needed to run an effective library service.
The library has over 8,000 physical resources, including books, DVDs, daily newspapers and periodicals, as well as subscriptions to online resources. The library’s catalogue can be accessed through networked computers in school. Computer with internet access can also be found in the library.
The library organizes a range of activities throughout the year in order to help promote literacy and reading for pleasure, including author visits and participation in book awards.
